2. Permissions and How They Are Used
The Extension requests the minimum necessary Chrome permissions to perform calculations locally:
storage: Used strictly to save your custom LTCG exemption value (the amount of the annual ₹1.25 Lakh exemption you've already utilized across other holdings) locally on your device via the Chromechrome.storage.localAPI.activeTab: Used only when you click "Save & Refresh" inside the extension popup to notify the active Groww tab to recalculate the on-page tax estimations in real time.- Host Permission (
https://groww.in/dashboard/stocks/holdings/*): Used exclusively to parse stock purchase dates and market prices rendered in the DOM on holding details pages to perform client-side tax calculations and render the summary panel.
3. Third-Party Services and Remote Code
The Extension does not load any remote code, external scripts, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs at runtime. All calculation logic, styles, and icons are bundled locally inside the extension package in full compliance with Chrome Web Store policies.
